45.00

Preserving the Season - Thursday, August 9, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, $45

Once you learn the basic methods for pickling and fermenting, you’ll be equipped to preserve local foods in any season. Together we will walk through the processes of pickling summer vegetables and fermenting radish kimchi and cabbage sauerkraut. And you’ll get to take home your own jar of refrigerator pickles!

Fresh and Flavorful is a series of three seasonally-inspired cooking classes at Swallowtail Farm in summer 2018. Whether you take one class or sign up for all three, you will learn more about how to prepare local foods in healthful ways that you can use every day. This class series is brought to you by Kelly Wilson of Taste of Health Nutrition, a registered dietitian and trained organic farmer, and Colleen Matts of Peck of Pickles, LLC, a local food advocate trained in the art of fine cooking. Their passion for good food shines through their fun, accessible, and informative instruction that is always in season.

Registration is required. The class size is limited to 20 participants so register soon!
